Circulation Clerk (part-time)
Under the supervision of the Circulation Services Librarian, this position performs a variety of duties and responsibilities that assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the library, including charging books, magazines, and other library holdings in and out of the circulation desk; checks incoming materials and inspects them for damage; operates a variety of standard office machines including a computer and cash register. Duties also include contacting and preparing holds for patrons as well as contacting them regarding overdue material.
Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires the ability to arrange items in numerical and alphabetical order and requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge and experience with computers and cash registers is required. Prior experience working in a library setting is highly desirable. Flexibility in scheduling including the ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends is required.
