Mystery novels come in all shapes and sizes. There’s cozy mysteries, forensic mysteries, humorous and psychological mysteries. A couple excellent resources for discovering new books and genres is Stop, You’re Killing Me!¬†This site contains chronological lists of tens of thousands of different mystery books. The website Malice Domestic¬†also tracks award-winning books, and grants certain books yearly “Agatha awards”, named after Agatha Christie, these are novels that contain nothing of explicit nature but still maintain the qualities of traditional mysteries.

The website Mystery Writers of America grant “Edgar awards”, named after Edgar Allen Poe, one of the most prestigious awards in the genre. Their yearly submissions include everything from Young Adult books, TV episodes, short stories and of course novels.
