Rock, Rebellion and Brownies: Memories of the 60’s

Tuesday, May 16, 6-7:30 p.m.
Take a trip down memory lane with Bill Castanier (a local writer and President of the Greater Lansing Historical Society) and Bob Pearson (a DJ for WILS in the 1960’s and WITL in the early 1970’s).  Together they will reminisce about the news, books, movies, social happenings and music of the 1960’s. Presented with the Delta Township Historical Society.

Telling Your Story

June 8, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Learn about the essential components of a narrative and how those components work together to make a story. We will analyze some common stories and learn how to turn a story idea (or a story from our own lives) into a riveting tale. Presented by local writer Kevin Fitton. Bike Repair Workshop

Saturday, June 17, 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Join us and the Lansing Bike Co-op for a bike repair workshop focusing on getting bikes street ready, and general maintenance.

Ingersoll Dollar Watch

Tuesday, June 20, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
In 1892 Robert Hawley Ingersoll and his brother Charles Henry Ingersoll, began selling mail-order dollar watches. Over the next twenty years, nearly forty million dollar watches were sold and the Ingersoll’s coined the phrase “The Watch that made the dollar famous!” Learn more about The Ingersoll Dollar Watch and its connection to Delta Township. Co-sponsored by the Delta Township Historical Society.

Fake News! Propaganda! Clickbait! 

Wednesdays, June 28, July 5 and 12, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Learn how to find reliable information in a ‘post truth’ world during our three-part discussion on Fake News. Topics include: Communication, destabilization, and how you’re being lied to (6/28), Spotting Fake News (7/5), Finding Reliable Sources (7/12).

Bike-In Movie

Friday, August 4, 7 p.m.
Bike-in to the library for an outdoor movie behind the library for a screening of Back to the Future starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd! Popcorn and refreshments will be provided, but bring your blankets.

3D Design Lab

Create your own 3D Print Designs with Tinkercad. Computers will be available for design time and a staff member will be on hand for tutorials and trouble shooting.
