Thank you to everyone that participated in our 2017 Battle of the Books! We had 21 teams compete in the Battles this year.
Congratulations to the winning team, Infinity, made up of Janet Colson and Forrest Colson (with help at the Preliminary Round from Hailey Spaulding)! This team’s performance was especially impressive as they competed in the Semi-Finals and Finals with only two members.
Coming in second place were The Thesauruses, made up of the Morgan family: Stephanie, Thomas, Kelly, and Allison. In third place were Book Bashers 3.0: Maria Gamble, Nate Bilbey, John Layman, Alisson Perkins, and Sam Gamble.
Rounding out the teams that made it to the Finals were: The Book Crafters, Ferocious Felines, and The Literary Ladies. The entire Finals Round was an extremely close match among all teams!

What is Battle of the Books?
It’s a fun trivia competition that tests your book knowledge. Teams of 4-5 participants read the selected Battle books in January and February. At the end of February/beginning of March, teams compete in a series of battles to see which team knows the most about the books.
Who can participate?
Adults, teens, and kids (4th grade and up) are all welcome, and teams can be made up of participants of all ages. A team could be a family of four, grandparents and grandchildren, four teen classmates, five book club friends, or other combinations. The booklist includes books that are appropriate for young readers but will appeal to all ages. Families are encouraged to participate together; even children too young for the competition can be included in the fun by acting as team cheerleaders and reading books on similar topics and themes.
