2010 Programs
December 1: Battle of the Books Kick-Off • 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Come to learn more about Battle of the Books, find out what this year’s booklist is, and sign up for the program. Treats will be provided. Bring your whole team if you already have one, or get a chance to meet others who are interested. Adults, teens, and kids (4th grade and up) are all welcome to participate.
December 15 & January 14: Team Spirit Nights • 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Come with your team to begin practicing for Battle of the Books. Plan your battle strategy and get advice and tips on how to read and practice. Plus we’ll have materials on hand to help you build team spirit – make posters, buttons, t-shirts, and more!
January 25: All-Ages Book Discussion • 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Join a small group to discuss a particular book or chat about all the books if you’ve read them. Get a better understanding of the books and pick up possible battle questions! Snacks provided.
February 4: Preliminary Battle • 6:30-7:45 p.m.
All teams will compete in this written battle to see who knows the most about the five battle books.
February 13: Final Battle • 1 p.m.
The top teams will contend for first place in this head-to-head competition. All Battle participants, friends, and family are encouraged to attend to cheer on these winning teams! Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams.
Participants: Please note that the Semi-Final Battles on February 11 & 12 have been canceled. All teams will participate in the Preliminary Battle on February 4, and the top teams will move on to the Final Battle.
