Summer Reading
Summer Reading Program 2010
Grand prize drawings were held on Monday, August 23. Summer reading prizes will be available for a few more weeks while supplies last.
Thanks to everyone who participated in our summer reading program this summer. 900 kids, tweens, and teens signed up to participate and read more than 8600 hours.
Thanks to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring the summer reading program.
Thanks also to the many local businesses who donated prizes, including: Burger King, Chaos Paintball, Cheddar’s, Eastwood Towne Center, Family Video, Jersey Giant, McDonald’s, Meijer, NCG Eastwood Cinemas, Red Robin, Royal Scot, Twisters, and Zap Zone.
Special thanks to the Delta Township Kiwanis for sponsoring the food at our Kick-Off Party and to Linda Vainner and Waverly Schools for providing it, and also to Greater Lansing’s Broadway Theatre & Dance Company for providing a year of free classes to one of our lucky Youth Talent Show performers. Much appreciation goes to our summer teen volunteers who worked over 330 hours providing assistance with programs and helping throughout the library.
Plan for another fun summer at the library in 2011. The theme is “One World, Many Stories”
