Writers’ Roundtable
Join us for a monthly writers’ workshop to get feedback about your writing and connect with other writers.
Group Goals:
- To provide writers with a forum to get feedback an out their own writing from other people who care about, and are involved in, the process of writing.
- To provide writers with a means and a prod to keep them writing.
- To have a place where writers can share contacts, reference materials, useful books, or just terrific writing to emulate-jokes and cartoons are good, too.
Who Can or Should Come to the Meetings:
- Anyone who is writing, has been writing, or wants to write fiction.
- Both beginning and advanced writers.
- People who are and willing to listen to the criticism of other writers.
Rules and Procedures:
- People bring their fiction to the meetings to share.
- If it is a long work, please start at the beginning, and allow people to respond to the actual writing, and to the complete story as it unfolds.
- Copies should be provided for others to follow along and write upon.
- Single spaced
- Paginated, for easy reference
- Comments will be expected, both verbally and written on copies.
- Positive and constructive criticisms will be presented.
- Minor criticisms, such as syntax and grammar, will be marked on the copies so people will have them to take home and utilize.
- Pieces should be about 300 words, to give everyone time to share. Longer pieces can be shared if time allows.
