Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Delta Township District Library. The Friends support the library in efforts to engage the community through a variety of services, programs and collections.
About the Friends
The Friends of the Delta Township District Library has been supporting the library since 1975 and has nearly 400 members. Funds earned through sales in the Friends' Bookstore, book & bake sales, accessory sales, art sales, eBay, and other fundraising efforts come directly back to the library and help support a variety of services and programs, including the Summer Reading Program, Battle of the Books, and other events; newspapers and free copies of BookPage; downloadable books and audiobooks, and other digital resources such as Ancestry and Creativebug; and more.
Contact the Friends at 517-816-8259. For updates about the Friends, bookstore, and fundraising events, please visit the Friends Facebook page.
Volunteer
If you are interested in volunteering with the Friends of the Library, applications are available in the Friends' Bookstore. In addition to shelver and cashier positions, the Friends are specifically looking for volunteers to assist with ebay by determining the value of the books, taking pictures and uploading to the Friends' site, listing books on ebay, and packaging and mailing books.
