Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books 2024
Delta Township District Library and Grand Ledge Area District Library are excited to present Battle of the Books 2024. Our 16th annual program will include engaging reads, fun activities, and friendly competition.
Keep an eye out for more details coming soon, including the 2024 booklist and team registration.
What is Battle of the Books?
It’s a fun trivia competition that tests your book knowledge. Teams of 3-5 participants read the five selected Battle books in January and February. In late February/early March, teams compete in a series of battles to see which team knows the most about the books.
Who can participate?
Adults, teens, and kids (fourth grade & up) are all welcome, and teams can be made up of participants of all ages. Families are encouraged to participate together. No more than five on a team may participate in a battle. It is helpful for all-kid teams to have an adult on their team or acting as a coach/team leader.
Prizes
All participants will be rewarded. The winning teams will win Barnes & Noble gift cards.
Battles
Teams will compete in written trivia battles to see who knows the most about the five Battle books. All teams will participate in the preliminary and semifinal battles. The top teams from each semifinal will earn a spot in the final battle.
Registration
Team registration will open soon! Register your team by January 22, 2024. Space is limited. Kickoff kits will be available for all registered teams (one per team) to pick up from DTDL (Youth Services desk) or GLADL (Circulation desk) and will include copies of the Battle books, activity guides, and more.
The 2024 Battle of the Books is possible due to the generous support of the Friends of the Delta Township District Library.
