Books By Mail

Books by Mail is a free service provided by the library with support from the Friends of the Library. Books are delivered to your local residence and returned to the library via the U.S. Postal Service with prepaid postage.

Who is eligible?

This program provides library materials by mail for Delta Township District Library cardholders in good standing. Digital Access cards are not eligible.

Please note that we provide contactless carside delivery of books for all patrons as well as an extensive digital collection; Books by Mail is intended for patrons who are not able to take advantage of our Carside Pickup or digital services.

How to get started?
Fill out the application below, or call 517-321-4014 ext. 4 to apply over the phone. Once we receive your application we will call you to discuss the service in more detail. Please note that we can only accept a limited number of participants and there may be a waiting list if demand is high.

What happens next?
After library staff confirm your application, items may be placed on hold online through our library catalog or by contacting the Adult Services Desk at 517‐321‐4014 ext. 4. The Library will mail a bag with a maximum of two items for an extended checkout period of 4 weeks. If you require more time, you may contact Circulation at 517‐321‐4014 or go to the library catalog to request a renewal.

Lost or damaged items are the responsibility of the patron and will be billed according to the circulation policy. Not all library items are eligible for delivery by mail. Please see the full circulation policy here
